Blackjack payout calculator: 3:2 vs 6:5
Enter a bet to see what a blackjack pays at each rate, and what the lower payout costs on average.
Inputs
Table rules
The bet and number of hands are only an example, not a suggestion.
3:2 and 6:5 in plain numbers
"3 to 2" pays 3 for every 2 you bet: a 10 bet wins 15. "6 to 5" pays 6 for every 5: the same 10 bet wins 12. The difference looks small on one hand, but a paid blackjack comes about once every 22 hands, and every one of them is paid less.
A blackjack that ties a dealer blackjack is a push and is not paid at either rate; the calculator counts only blackjacks that are actually paid.
How to spot a 6:5 table online
The payout is printed on the felt of live tables ("Blackjack pays 3 to 2") and listed in the game rules or help screen of digital games. If it says 6 to 5, the table costs more than any other common rule change.
